Cinema is the platform where the dream of many peoples such
as directors, actors and many technicians are processed and come as an output
of their dreams. In other hands, the Cinematic Universe itself a dreamland
where the writer or directors imagination comes into life by hard work of the
whole crew. There are many movies screened till now which have their own theory
of dreams. But the climax of any movie in any language is "DREAM OF HERO FOR THAT
PARTICULAR MOVIE WILL BE FULFILLED". If this does not happen in the
proper manner the movie will be considered not as a perfect completion.
There are
movies that had dealt with the theory of dream in depth. Starting
from "INCEPTION TO LUCIA". There are movies that have a
separate theory with their dream universe. In Tamil also "ENAKKUL
ORUVAN" movie have been touched this dream topic by remaking the Kannada
movie "LUCIA". But I loved the movie "ON BODY AND SOUL", It
is a Hungarian movie basically but made a new theory for a dream. The movie portrays
that the dream is connected by souls. This movie was directed by "Ildikó
Enyedi". This movie was nominated in Oscar under the category of Best
foreign language film and won the Golden Bear award and got many recognitions.
The movie
was without an antagonist and had a slow pace screenplay which needs more
patience to watch but the climax sequence will make you feel pleasant. The
story of the movie will be revolving around the hero and heroine. The role of
the hero was played by Géza Morcsányi as Endre with the creeped
left hand and the role of the heroine was played by Alexandra
Borbély as Mária. The hero and heroine will be working in a
slaughterhouse and they will be connected by their souls. So, they will be
having a dream which will be shared by both of them. In their dreamland, they
will be in the form of a deer couple. In their dream, they both will be in
search of food midst of woods with snowfall and they will no have a mating
sequence in their dream still male deer will be trying and female deer will not
be in that mood to accept it.
Endre and Maria will come to know about their shared dream by the
personality screening session conducted as the course of action due to theft in
the slaughterhouse. Then there will be unknown attractive force will start to
build between these two. Maria's autistic behaviour will be having insecurity
inside and that makes her uncomfortable even to speak others. She will be
making the conversation by a hallucination afterwards in her place.
She will have a bad vibe when others touch her unknowingly also. That made
her uncomfortable to interact closely with Endre. But they will be having a
conversation in the dreamland.
In the movie, they both will be planning to have a night stay to check their dreams in
the night and to discuss it in the morning. But due to her insecurity, she will
move away and this act of her made her feel pity and she will try watching porn
and getting advice to handle the physical contact of others. She will
experiment herself with a doll and she will contact Endre after gaining some
confidence. But now Endre will be in a confused state to accept this proposal
and He will move away. So Devasted Maria will commit suicide in her bathtub by
slitting her wrist. The blood will start to rush out.
Suddenly
there will be a call from Endre. This sequence will be more realistic and too
touching. Endre will be saying that I felt very bad and I had a feeling that I
am going to die that is the reason for calling you to check whether everything
is normal. Maria will be speaking with half-consciousness and feel happy for
the emotional talk from him and they will have sex as she was comfortable now
with him. At last, Endre will be asking whether she had a dream yesterday but
both of them had no dream after the sex. The entire dream of being Deer is
happened to make them as a happy couple.
